About Amy
Lightbulb Moments is founded and run by Amy Soukup, a certified educational therapist and credentialed education specialist.
Prior to starting Lightbulb Moments, Amy served as director of an educational therapy clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area and as a classroom teacher, inclusion specialist, and resource specialist in private and public school settings. She holds a Masters in special education from the University of San Francisco.
Amy especially enjoys helping young learners crack the code of reading. She incorporates Orton-Gillingham and multi-sensory methodologies based on the Science of Reading to strengthen literacy skills. Amy also supports students in their development of math, written expression, spelling, attention/focus, executive function, and overall academic confidence and social-emotional well-being. She includes art, humor, games, movement, and individual interests to ensure that learning is fun and engaging!
